Welcome to the Cal Poly Pharmacy!

For enrolled students:

We have a limited formulary but can special order most medications. Our formulary includes medication for travel and required school immunizations. 

At this time, the pharmacy does not accept any insurance plans. Our cash price is generally less than or equal to most insurance co-payments. Also, the pharmacy doesn't order or dispense Schedule II medications such as Vyanse, Focalin, or methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta).

New prescriptions from outside providers: We can fill most prescriptions written by outside prescribers. Have your off-campus provider send your prescriptions electronically to “Cal Poly SLO Pharmacy.”

Transferring your prescription to the Cal Poly Pharmacy: 

If you have refills on your prescription at another pharmacy, please provide us with the pharmacy phone number, your prescription Rx number, and the name of the medication. We will call the pharmacy to transfer the information.

Please plan ahead. We are a small and busy pharmacy. Refill requests are generally available for pick up the same day. However, sometimes it takes 24-72 hours for a response for additional refills. All special-order medications are received the next business day.

Pharmacy pickup: Please call 805-756-5260 for a refill request. You will receive a phone call from our pharmacy when your prescription order is ready.
 

 

For students, faculty, and staff: We carry a variety of non-prescription medications which includes cough and cold, allergy, analgesics, topical creams, vitamins, smoking cessation products and stomach acid reducers, to name a few. We also carry essentials such as thermometers, toothbrushes, tampons, bandages, and more. Our prices are very competitive. 

The Cal Poly Pharmacy is open during regular Campus Health and Wellbeing business hours.  Please feel free to walk in and see us.  We follow all COVID-19 health recommendations.  

In fall 2023, Campus Health and Wellbeing and University Housing collaborated to launch Cal Poly’s Medical Vending Machine pilot program to provide greater access to over-the-counter products to students. As part of this program, the university established its first medical vending machine in Aliso at Poly Canyon Village, which dispenses many of the same low-cost products students can currently purchase from Campus Health and Wellbeing’s pharmacy in the Health Center (27).
