Mayra Lopez is a bilingual and bicultural clinician with a commitment to provide therapeutic support among marginalized and underserved communities. Her clinical career has centered around providing mental health services that encompass cultural humility, diversity, social justice, intersectionality, trauma informed practices and BIPOC affirming care. As a Central Coast native, Ms. Lopez has previously served SLO County by providing bilingual therapy to individuals with complex and severe mental health needs. Her clinical work has encompassed integrative approaches with cultural humility, narrative therapy, trauma focused CBT , Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT ) and holistic care that empowers collective healing. Ms. Lopez believes in the neuroplasticity of the brain that allows for emotional repairs and true internal healing. Ms. Lopez acknowledges the importance of emotional regulation an d human co nnection in order to provide a safe environment for therapeutic care. She Lopez enjoys working with a variety of presenting concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety and depressive symptoms, trauma recovery and resiliency, inter secting identities , first generation and BIPOC college students. Ms. Lopez is fluent in Spanish and is comfortable providing therapeutic care in this language. Ms. Lopez enjoys the coastal weather, swim ming, neuroscience research, travel, ethnic foods and restorative yoga.
