- Is meningitis B vaccine a covered benefit on your policy?
- What is the co-pay?
- Which vaccine do they cover (Trumenba or Bexsero)? Both are equally effective but Trumenba requires a 3-shot series, while Bexsero is a 2-shot series. You must stay with the same drug to complete the entire series.
I already received a meningitis vaccination. Do I still need this one?
The meningitis vaccine you received likely covers the A, C, W and Y groups. The Meningitis B vaccine specifically helps prevent group B disease and is administered in a series of shots. For additional information, visit https://www.cdc.gov/meningococcal/
To avoid contracting meningitis:
- Don’t share dishes, glasses, cigarettes or other items.
- Wash hands frequently.
- Cough into your sleeve, not into your hand.
